Highlight and group bookmarks

Adobe Digital Editions - Possibility to highlight text and group bookmarks by topic (perhaps even across different books?)

I have just begun using Adobe Digital Editions and am beginning to learn how to read books on the computer.

 

I have learned how to add a bookmark to a sentence but is it possible to:

 

- Highlight text without bookmarking it?
- Group bookmarks by topics within the same book?
- Group bookmarks by topics across different books in the library?

 

I would also like the ability to print certain pages of the book to PDF for online sharing and hard print for finished books.
Will my bookmarks show up on such prints? This is pretty important to me as I use the bookmarks to note thoughts and have a mentor look them over and guide me a bit further ahead.

ADE won't recognise my Google Play username/password iot upload a Google Play book

Trying to upload a Google Play book into ADE to move it across into my Kobo. Won't let me authorise my computer with Google Play - says my password/username are wrong. They're not. I've tried Google - they say I must ask you for help. Can you help me?

Can I save my bookmarked eBooks in a cloud folder and access them from different devices using ADE?

Hi, I have a number of eBooks with bookmarks.  Can I save my file in a cloud folder and access them along with bookmarks?  I hate to bookmark each version residing on a different device.  Thanx.  :-)

Error ! Check activation

I buy a book and when I download it, I get an URLLink.acsm files. When I want to open it, ADE gives a message "Error ! Check activation"

What does I do ?

Cannot print workbook!

I purchased a workbook in pdf. Turned out I needed to download Adobe Digital Editions to read this book. Now I cannot print pages as the print button is greyed out. Seriously!!! It's a "WORKBOOK"!!! I tried looking for help on the ADE's website & found nothing unless it was for a product that was purchased from them.

My old computer died. I had adobe digital editions installed on it. Can't authorize new computer with my adobe id?

I had to replace my computer that I no longer have access to.  I installed Adobe Digital Editions 4.0 on my new computer. After trying to transfer ebooks from the library to my ereader, I got the computer authorization screen.  I tried to sign in using my Adobe id & got the error message that I couldn't use my adobe id to authorize my new computer bacause I had used it to authorize my old computer and or mobile device.  What do I do???

Change the cover page of epub book

I would like to know how to change the cover of some of my epub books.  Same have a very bland and unexciting cover page and I would like to change it to reflect some of the cover pages found on internet sites.  Can anyone tell me if this is possible and if so how to do it.  There doesn't seem to be any editing functions in ADE.

ADE in Android?

Is it possible to read files protected with ADE on an Android phone? My local library has an ebook service, but they're all ADE ePub or PDF. I'd really like to borrow them. I have fbreader, but it won't touch Adobe's drm, obviously.

Public Library customers getting "ADE quit unexpectedly" on Mac OS Yosemite 10.10.2 - ADE versions 4.0.1 - 4.0.3

Hi,

 

I work at a public library - we now have at least three customers affected by the issue where ADE quits unexpectedly after a .acsm file is opened and during the fulfillment stage.

All three customers are using Mac OS 10.10.2. One person is using 4.0.1, one person is using 4.0.2, and one person is using 4.0.3.

 

They are seeing the following info in the system error dialog:

 

Exception type:

Crashed Thread: 0 Dispatch queue: com.apple.main-thread

Exception Type: EXC_BAD_ACCESS (SIGSEGV)

Exception Codes: KERN_INVALID_ADDRESS at 0x0000000000000000

 

Further down the thread they see:

 

Logical CPU:     1

Error Code:      0x00000004

Trap Number:     14

 

The ebook vendor has advised us to have customers roll back to ADE version 3.0, and have customers re-authorize.

 

Does Adobe have a solution for this issue other than rolling back?

 

I tried to speak with a chat agent about this issue and was referred to this forum. A poor customer service experience overall even though the chat operators are polite and tried to help as best they could.

Authorisierung in Digital Editions

Ich habe einen neuen Laptop, der alte mit der Authorisierung in Adobe Digital Editions ist kaputt. Wenn ich ein E-Book auf das Lesegerät

kopieren will, ist das nicht möglich, weil ich den neuen Computer mit der alten E-Mail Adresse nicht authorisieren kann. Kann man mich zurücksetzen oder welche Lösung gibt es?

Error Check Activation (tried all advise to no avail, really desperate)

So I got a new computer, runs windows 8. Installed adobe digital editions. Activated computer. All seems well.

Went to download an ebook from my public library, get error "Error Check Activation."

 

Ok, so I go to erase activation under the help menu. Type in my information and get the message "Unable to erase authorization. Please try after some time."

 

So I wait some time and try again. Still doesn't work.

 

Ok, so I go to the adobe communities and find some people who have a similar issue. I follow ALL of the instructions, including going into the registry and deleting the the key. Nothing works.

 

I've installed and uninstalled 10 or more times, removes all visible files from my systems, removed the key from the registry, etc. Still doesn't work.

 

I'm so frustrated at this!  Is there anything else I can do short of wiping my computer clean and trying all over?

Non riesco a scaricare una rivista digitale che ho pagato. Invece gli ebook gratuiti li scarico senza problemi. Ho disattivato il firewall, disinstallato e reinstallato, provato altri browser.

authorization does'nt work

Yesterday I downloaded some ebooks and got some ACSM-files. The old Version of Digital Editions 2.0 could'nt open them, so I downloaded the new version 4.0. But then I got the message "Error! Check activation". I deletet the authorization, but when I've start again I could'nt complete the authorization. I get a connection error. It says that there is no connection to the activation-server and that I have to check my internet connection. But there is nothing wrong.

I have already tried to disable the firewall or add the programm to the firewall programm. I checked my Adobe ID and password and I've run the programm as administrator. I have also uninstalled the programm and tried the old version 2.0 again. Nothing is working. PLEAS HELP!!!

Problem with authorising my computer to download an e-book

At the stage where I have to get authorisation for my computer, I am unable to continue. Upon clicking the the authorise button, either of the two messages will appear:-

1) Adobe Digital Editions informs me that "An error has been detected: Connection Error: Digital Editions could not connect to the activation server / Please make sure you are connected to the Internet / To retry, click the Try Again button.

NB: This is the case whether I try to get authorisation with or without creating an ID. The result is I get to the same window prompting me to "Authorise Your Computer". For the avoidance of doubt, I AM CONNECTED TO THE INTERNET when I try to perform these functions.

2) Upon clicking the authoise button, there is a blank screen. I normally wait about a minute and if nothing happens then I close the blank screen. Upon doing so, a message appears "Adobe Digital Editions 4.0 has stopped working: A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and will notify you if a solution is available."

Can anyone out there provide a solution?

eBook Error Problem

Have downloaded an ebook (after returning a read one), but now find that the following error occurs: "Error getting Licence, Licence Server Communication Problem: E_ADEPT_XML_SYNTAX". I have erased the computer Authorisation and re-authorized, but still get the error dialog box when attempting to open the Adobe Content Server Message.

How may this error be rectified?

What does this mean. I was able to download a book last week and now I get this error. Does it have anything to do with the latest Firefox version?


Yep it was the computer date/time that was not correct. Once that was corrected everything worked perfectly.

I cannot get Digital Editions to authorize my computer. It returns an error message "Digital Editions could not connect to the activation server. Please make sure you are connected to the Internet." My internet connection is fine. Any suggestions?
